Why choose Costa Rica?

Whether you prefer beaches, mountains, volcanoes, rivers, cloud forests, small towns or urban centers, you can find a place to be content in Costa Rica. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike, dive, raft, surf, snorkel, fish or bird watch through a variety of microclimates, all easily accessible because Costa Rica is slightly smaller than West Virginia.

Costa Rica is a stable democracy. The water is safe to drink and medical care is good. Public transportation is cheap and accessible. Taxis are reasonable, and rental car places abound for those who prefer to be in the driver’s seat.

If people-watching is your style; the streets are always full of pedestrians and bicyclists, and a friendly word will likely be returned. And Ticos (Costa Ricans) are known for their friendliness.  The Spanish spoken in Costa Rica is clear and courtesy is the norm.

As of this writing, neither visas nor special immunizations are required for entry to Costa Rica. They welcome visitors.
